When to answer, and when to omit
On a five-option question a blind guess is worth nothing on average: the quarter penalty cancels the one-in-five chance exactly. Rule out one option with certainty and answering starts to pay. The same holds in every section, on a smaller scale.

With 4 options left, answering is worth +1.38 points on average: one chance in 4 of +22, the rest at −5.5.

EXAM MODE
Practise inside the constraints of test day.
On test day the HUMAT runs in Safe Exam Browser: one locked window, sections on separate clocks that close for good, and a penalty for every wrong answer. Every full paper in Vettamed Desktop runs under the same rules.
How full papers work1. Section clock
Each section counts down on its own: 45, 35 and 40 minutes, then 12 for the reserve. At zero the section closes, answered or not.
2. “End section”
Close a section early and move on. Once closed, it cannot be reopened.
3. Question grid
Every question in the section. Green marks a confirmed answer; yellow with a question mark, one you flagged to review.
4. “I omit the answer”
Counts as no answer and scores zero, the same as leaving the question blank.
5. “to review”
Keeps your answer and flags the question. When the section closes, a flagged answer stands.
6. “Confirm and continue”
Records your choice and moves to the next question.

WORKED REASONING
One question, taken apart.
After you submit, every question opens with its worked explanation: the step that decides it and the reasoning behind the key. The public specimen below is reviewed in full, option by option.
How review worksProcedural thinking · following a protocol
A sorting protocol gives each sample a code. Start with the sample number n.
- If n is even, divide it by 2. If n is odd, add 5.
- If the result is greater than 10, subtract 4. Otherwise, multiply it by 3.
- The code is the remainder when the result is divided by 4.
Which sample number receives code 3?
The decisive step
Work backwards. An odd n becomes even at step 1, and both branches of step 2 keep it even, so its code is 0 or 2: 9 and 11 are out at once. Of 6, 10 and 14, step 2 gives 9, 15 and 21; only 15 leaves remainder 3.
Why each option stands or falls
- A6Ruled out6 → 3 → 9, and 9 leaves remainder 1: code 1.
- B9Ruled out9 is odd, so step 1 gives 14. 14 → 10, which leaves remainder 2: code 2.
- C10Key10 → 5 → 15, and 15 = 3 × 4 + 3: code 3.
- D11Ruled out11 → 16 → 12: code 0. Like every odd number, it can only reach code 0 or 2.
- E14Ruled out14 → 7 → 21, and 21 leaves remainder 1: code 1. It takes the same route as 10 and lands on the wrong remainder.
Method that transfers. When a procedure ends in a property, ask which inputs can produce that property at all. Here parity removes two options before any arithmetic.

What is the free test?
Eight Scientific Thinking questions in 18 minutes, the pace of the real section. You need no account or download. Your result shows your score, your time on each question and a worked solution for every question. It sets your baseline pace; it is not a prediction of your exam result.
What does a plan include?
Every plan includes the Scientific Thinking bank with worked solutions, the daily set, your review queue and the study plan, and papers in Vettamed Desktop under test-day rules. Sprint gives you three papers of your choice for 30 days. Complete includes every published paper, new releases included, until 30 April 2027, after the 2027 HUMAT. Two-Cycle Extended does the same until 30 April 2028, after the 2028 HUMAT. Sprint does not include every new paper.
How close are the papers to the real HUMAT?
Each paper is built to the official 2026 specification: the same sections in the same order, the same section clocks, the same scoring and penalties for Medicine & Surgery and MEDTEC, and a reserve phase. The questions test reasoning on unfamiliar material, as the HUMAT does, and every one has a worked solution. They are Vettamed questions, written to the syllabus.
Is there practice for Academic Literacy, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics?
Yes. Every full paper has ten questions in each of the six subjects. The separate practice bank focuses on Scientific Thinking.
I’m applying to MEDTEC. Is Vettamed for me?
Yes. Every paper is scored twice, under the Medicine & Surgery and the MEDTEC weights. For MEDTEC, Mathematics and Physics carries the most points, and every section has its own minimum.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac with macOS 12 or later (Apple silicon or Intel), or a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC. Papers and protected practice open in Vettamed Desktop; your plan and progress are on the web.
Which language are the questions in?
English, as on the HUMAT. The website, the app and the emails are also available in Turkish and Italian.
Can I get a refund?
Refund and withdrawal conditions are in the Terms of service, section 6, including when access starts immediately at checkout. Read that section before you enrol. The free test needs no purchase.
Who is behind Vettamed?
Vettamed is an independent preparation house built for a single exam, the HUMAT. Its papers, practice bank and worked solutions are written, verified and maintained to the official 2026 specification.
Is Vettamed affiliated with Humanitas University?
No. Vettamed is an independent preparation provider. Its papers are built to the published syllabus and format; they are not official HUMAT questions. HUMAT and Humanitas are named only to identify the exam Vettamed prepares candidates for.
